Walker Wayland participates in the City to Surf, support our chosen Charity SANE Australia
- 02 June 2011
In 2010 Walker Wayland NSW participated in its first Sun Herald City to Surf with a small team of willing participants. We have registered the Walker Wayland team again this year, and we are delighted to say it has tripled in size ...as we hope our charitable donations raised will too!
Our chosen charity for 2011 is SANE Australia, a foundation which seeks to assist those affected with mental illness and their families. SANE is also an Institute of Chartered Accountants Australia "Everybody Counts" charity partner.
Earlier this year a few of our staff members attended an Everybody Counts event and were fortunate to hear a presentation from a bipolar sufferer. She spoke eloquently about how the assistance provided by SANE meant all the difference in the world for her and her young family. It was very difficult to come out of that talk unaffected and when it came time to choose a charity to support in 2011 SANE Australia was an obvious choice.
On 12 August 2011 our team will be running/walking/crawling the excruciating 14km of the Sydney City to Surf in hopes of raising as much money as possible for SANE Australia. We'd appreciate your support - every little bit counts.
