On Wednesday the 12th of February some of the team from Walker Wayland NSW made their way over to the RSPCA to volunteer at the Yagoona shelter. The RSPCA is a not for profit charity that works to influence animal welfare policy, practice and legislation across the country.
The RSPCA undertake their work through various avenues, including working with government and industries, communicating and contributing to animal welfare science, implementing the RSPCA Approved Farming Scheme, and working with supporters through targeted advocacy and education campaigns.
From cleaning the stables to walking the dogs and touring the new veterinary hospital, the team did a bit of everything. Learning important lessons on the care of animals and their welfare, it was a valuable day to everyone who was able to attend.
More of the Walker Wayland NSW team will be heading out to volunteer at the shelter again in March.
